We hike slowly, “pole pole,” on the trails of the rainforest, which is full of wildlife, from monkeys to colorful birds and other small animals. We will have a stop for lunch before reaching the Machame camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
We start our day with a healthy breakfast. Heading to the viewpoint where we will get a glimpse of the Masailand landscape view from above Mount Kilimanjaro Mountain and spot Mount Meru from afar, today will be a truly rewarding day on our trails to Shira 2 camp.
We will have our lunch on the way, slowly enjoying the landscape. Reaching the camp and getting a chance to see the sunset before getting a hot bowl of water for washing, being served lunch, and being ready for sweet dreams.
Starting our day with a stunning sunrise. After breakfast, we continued our hike, passing remarkable places where we would spot the Kilimanjaro glacier on the western side before reaching the Lava Tower (15,190 feet), which gave us advantages for acclimatization.
We will enjoy our hot lunch at the Lava Tower with a time to rest and experience the high altitude before descending, and get a time to take a picture of the landscape and Giant Groundsel, which gives stunning views of the trails to Barranco Camp.
Rise and shine! We enjoy our healthy breakfast; thereafter, we pack and hike the Baranco wall, passing the iconic kissing rock before reaching the breathtaking view of the Kilimanjaro glacier.
We proceed with our trekking till we reach the Karanga, where we will be served a hot lunch. We will experience the stunning view of the landscape together with the Kilimanjaro Mountain peak view onward to Barafu Camp, where we will be served hot water for washing and get enough time to sleep to prepare our bodies for the night summit.
The day we have been waiting for! “Summit day.” We wake up around 0030 hours in the morning and get ready to hike. We climb slowly with our headlamps on, where we will be rewarded by sunrise.
We will reach Stella Point and head to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro for summiting at 19,431 feet above sea level. We will take some pictures before starting to descend for lunch at the camp.
We will proceed to Mweka Camp, where we will celebrate on the mountain and get some time to sleep.
Our last day on Mount Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, we descend via the rainforest and get a chance to spot wild animals. We reached the Mweka gate and were rewarded with Kilimanjaro certificates for reaching the highest peak of Africa, which stands 19,431 feet above sea level.
We will have one last time to sing and dance with the crew before getting into the car, heading to the hotel for a cozy sleep.
