After breakfast, we meet our crew and driver and head to Marangu Gate; we register and start climbing. We will start slowly, passing through the rainforest, with chances to observe wildlife and reach the hut for lunch, enjoy our dinner, and have an overnight stay.
A healthy breakfast at the hut, and we head on the climb “pole pole” (slowly). Today, we will witness a beautiful landscape, and when we reach the moorland, we will see some adapted flora, including giant heathers and giant groundsels.
We will enjoy our packed lunch on the way before reaching Horombo Hut for our dinner and accommodation.
Today is a challenging day for our climb, where we will have to gain 3,225 feet of elevation in less than 8 hours of hiking.

Our guide will make sure to measure your oxygen saturation and heart rate each time on your hike. At the hut, you will get hot water to wash so that you can get better sleep for your body to recover after a long day.
The summit day! We get up around 00:30, midnight, and get prepared with a hot drink. We start chasing the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro slowly, with our guides leading the way, with some stops to witness the beautiful sunrise.
Arrived at the summit of Kilimanjaro, 19,341 feet (5,895 meters), and took some photos for a simple celebration of reaching our goal to reach the summit before starting to descend to the hut for lunch. We will head to the Horombo hut for a night.
We start our day with a sunrise celebration at the hut, followed by a healthy breakfast. Today we descend slowly until we reach the Marangu Gate, passing through the stunning rainforest, where we will have another chance to spot wild animals, from blue monkeys to the iconic black-and-white colobus monkeys.
Reaching the gate, we get our official certificates and meet the driver guide and head to the hotel for our cozy sleeping on the mattress, “the long-waiting sleeping,” after the toughest days on the mountain.
Today is your last day seeing Mount Kilimanjaro. “Long memories and pictures that last forever.” We will share our thoughts and reviews of the experience and get ready for your next adventure—whether it’s going on an adventure safari to Serengeti, Tarangire, or Ngorongoro Crater, or flying to the island of Zanzibar for beach relaxation.
We will transfer you to the airport with an option of visiting Moshi to get some souvenir gifts for your family and friends if you would like to.
